The Sendenyu Community Ecotourism Board (SCEB) has issued a notice advising visitors to refrain from visiting Nsonji Lake Park until further notice.
This precaution is necessary to allow the management to implement essential safety measures for the public, SCEB said in a notification. The advisory follows a tragic incident at Nsonji Lake on June 30, where an Indian Army soldier lost his life while attempting to rescue a drowning friend. The soldier’s body was recovered on July 1.
Meanwhile, the SCEB expressed its deepest condolences and sympathy to the family of late Shwensinlo Semp from Terogvunyu Village.
The Board also extended gratitude to the District Administration and State Disaster Relief Force for their support and relentless service in recovering the body deceased soldier’s body.
