The Lions Club of Kohima will conduct the Lions International Peace Poster Contest on the theme “Together As One” on October 10, 2025, at the Red Cross Building in Kohima. The announcement was made by Lion Oken Jeet Sandham, President of Lions Club of Kohima, and Lion Max Marius Menuse-O, Contest Chairperson, during a meeting on Thursday at the Lions Service Centre in Kohima.

Eleven schools will participate in the contest, with two students representing each school: one male and one female, except Little Flower Higher Secondary School, an all-girls school, which will have two female participants. Participating schools include Dainty Buds, Ministers’ Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School, Little Flower Higher Secondary School, Fernwood, Government High School New Market, Government Middle School Officer’s Hill, Mezhür Higher Secondary School, Model Higher Secondary School, Mezhür High Thizama, Bumblebee Inclusive School, and St. Mary’s Cathedral Higher Secondary School.
Three special schools—Jo Foundation Inclusive School, Cherry Blossoms Inclusive School, and Bumblebee Inclusive School—will participate in the non-competitive category, with one participant each.
The top three winning posters will advance to the Regional and National rounds, with the potential to reach the International Headquarters for evaluation by art experts. The international winner will receive a major prize, citation, and travel with a parent or guardian and the Kohima Lions Club to the award ceremony. Additionally, 23 merit award winners will receive cash prizes and citations internationally, while prizes will also be awarded for the first, second, and third positions locally.
The event will be graced by Col. Manoj Sankhyan, Commandant, 13 Assam Rifles, as the chief guest, and Hmingthansanga, Programme Executive, Doordarshan Kendra Nagaland, as the guest of honour.
The Lions International Peace Poster Contest is a global initiative promoting peace, understanding, and harmony among children, allowing young participants to express their visions for a more peaceful world through art.
