The 11th Inter-Departmental Tournament for Zunheboto district, organized by the District Sports Council and the District Administration, commenced on September 12, 2024, in Zunheboto.
Deputy Commissioner Rahul Bhanudas Mali, IAS, served as the special guest at the opening ceremony. In his address, he encouraged participants to display exceptional sportsmanship and praised the organizing committee and district departments for their efforts in hosting the event. He also noted that the tournament serves as a unique gathering for government employees. Following his speech, the Deputy Commissioner hoisted the tournament flag and officially declared the event open.
The inaugural event was chaired by ADC Zunheboto and tournament convenor Keyirangding Hegui. DSCZ member Zhekugha Assumi delivered the welcome address, and DPO & DSCZ member David Sema administered the tournament oath.
The Inter-Departmental Tournament features competitions in badminton, carrom, chess, and penalty shootout, with 367 participants from 43 departments taking part.
