Thirteen key members of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) and the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) formally joined the Indian National Congress at a New Members Induction Programme held in Shamator District on Thursday, 24 July.
The new entrants, led by M Kejingkhum, Vice President of LJP for 58 Shamator–Chessore Assembly Constituency, were inducted during a program organized by the 58 A/C Congress Unit. The event also marked the unit’s monthly meeting.
Welcoming the new members, Chotsase Sangtam, President of the Tuensang District Congress Committee (DCC), said the Congress remains open to all individuals committed to bringing political change and development. W Akum, Vice President of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) and PCC member, also addressed the gathering and assured the new members of support and collective progress.
The inducted members include office bearers from LJP’s Mahila, Youth, and Kissan Morcha wings, as well as former NDPP workers. Among them are:
· Yanluba – Advisor & Chief Agent, LJP
· Mahkila – Vice President, Mahila Wing, LJP
· T. Mukam – Youth President, LJP
· Neoji – President, Kissan Morcha, LJP
· R Throngshi – Former NDPP candidate and active worker
· Along with nine others from both parties
DCC President Chotsase Sangtam assured the new members that the party would work together with them for a stronger and better future.
