MH-10 Kohima, Evergreen Club Ungma, Spadroon Club Chungtia, United Changki advance to semifinals

The 18th Imchaba Master Memorial Volleyball Trophy 2025 reached an intense phase on Day 3 as the quarterfinals unfolded at the Multi Purpose Sports Complex, Mokokchung, delivering a mix of commanding victories and thrilling five-set encounters.

In the first quarterfinal clash, MH-10 Kohima, the defending champions, displayed their dominance against Yajang ‘C’. Benefiting from a stroke of luck after the withdrawal of Southern Angami Sports Association, Yajang ‘C’ struggled to match the pace and skill of the reigning champions. MH-10 Kohima stormed through the match in straight sets, winning 25–5, 25–15, 25–11. The commanding victory cemented their status as tournament favorites and set them on a confident path to the semifinals.

Evergreen Club Ungma and Longsa Sporting Club Mokokchung delivered one of the most anticipated clashes. The second quarterfinal match highlighted high-intensity rallies and tactical brilliance. Evergreen’s defensive duo, Tongpang and Bendang, neutralized Longsa’s attacks while Wonglom and Mesu orchestrated effective offensive plays. Lima added deceptive touches that repeatedly disrupted Longsa’s rhythm. Evergreen secured a straight-sets win, 25–16, 25–16, 25–12, signaling their strong title credentials.

Fly High Tuensang met Spadroon Club Chungtia in a dramatic five-set encounter in the third quarterfinal clash. Tuensang claimed the first set 25–18, but Spadroon responded 25–15 in the second. Tuensang regained momentum in the third set 25–15, only for Spadroon to level with a 25–17 fourth set win. In the decisive fifth set, Spadroon held their composure, combining precise strikes and defense to win 15–6, completing a remarkable comeback.

United Changki faced Chienino Brothers Kiruphema ‘B’ in the fourth quarterfinal clash. Libero Sademeren’s anticipation and the attacking efficiency of Imtiyatet and Takoyapang helped United Changki control the match, winning 25–20, 25–21, 25–16.

With these results, MH-10 Kohima, Evergreen Club Ungma, Spadroon Club Chungtia, and United Changki advance to the semifinals, promising intense battles as the tournament heads into its final stages.
