The Suthozumi Chess Association, based in Phek district, Nagaland, will host the inaugural Nagaland Online Open Chess Tournament on August 15 at 1:30 PM. Organized under the Nagaland Chess Association, the event aims to promote chess across the state.

The tournament will follow a 13-round Swiss League format on the Lichess server with a 3-minute Blitz time control. A Rs. 20,800 prize pool will be distributed across categories, including the top 20 Open category players and the top three in both Under-17 and Under-11 categories. Special prizes will be awarded to the top female player and the top veteran player.

The tournament is open only to Nagaland residents. The registration fee is Rs. 200 for the Open category and Rs. 100 for Under-17, Under-11, female, and veteran players. Registration closes on August 14, 2025, at 8:00 PM. For online registration or inquiries, contact 7005903450 via phone.
