Sovima, 31 March (MTNews): Hosts Nagaland defeated Sikkim to register their semifinal berth in a match that was reduced to 33 overs per side because of soggy outfield at Sovima Cricket Ground.

A perfect captain’s knock of 102 runs off 87 balls from Jonathan Rongsen saw Nagaland compose a formidable total of 183 runs on the board with Sikkim needing 184 runs from 33 overs to win the match.

 

At the end of the league stages, Manipur topped group-1 to qualify for the semi-finals with Meghalaya as the runners-up while Nagaland topped group-2 to qualify for the semi-finals with Sikkim as the runners up.

 

Manipur will play Sikkim, runners-up of Group-2 at Nagaland Cricket Stadium on 1 April at 08:45 AM. Meanwhile, Nagaland will play Meghalaya, runners-up of Group-1 at Sovima Cricket Stadium on the same day at 08:45 AM.
