Kohima, 26 September (MTNews): In the first match of the eighth day of the NSF Martyr’s Memorial Trophy, the Jakhama Youth Organisation (JYO) defeated Meriema Village Youth Organisation (MVYO) by a score of 4-2. The first goal in favor of Jakhama Youth Organisation was scored by Avito Khieya (15) in the 8th minute. JYO’s additional goals were scored by Shürhosül Zhotso (9), Rokovikho Khatso (11), and Mechievizo Khatso (13) in the 49th, 54th, and 56th minutes, respectively.

Pangersunep (2) of JYO scored an own goal, opening the score sheet for MVYO in the 73rd minute. Khrieneituo (10) netted a goal for his team, bringing MVYO’s score to 2 goals in the 87th minute.

 

Mezizoto of JYO and Vizovoto of MVYO were cautioned for unsporting behavior.

Avito Khieya (15) of JYO was adjudged the Man of the Match.

 

Kidima shuts out Chedema warriors with a 3-0 triumph in day’s second match

In the second match of Day 8 of the 23rd NSF Martyrs Memorial 2023, Tiema Khe Kidima (TKK) defeated Chedema Warriors FC with a convincing score of 3-0. Despite an encouraging start from the Chedema team, they struggled to find the net during the first half, squandering several opportunities.

The Kidima team gained momentum when Vizopa Phinyo scored the opening goal in the 51st minute. Subsequently, Dupisa Pucho and Kenopol Thokwe added two more goals in quick succession in the 58th and 61st minutes, sealing a 3-0 victory at the final whistle.

 

Kenopol Thokwe earned the title of Man of the Match, presented by Zekuseto Natso, a former ASU executive.
