The 25 Naga Battalion (NCC) launched Project YuvaBhagidari, a unique training and community engagement programme designed to promote social service initiatives. The programme will involve NCC Cadets from the Senior Division and Senior Wing, who will be trained on specific health and fitness themes. These cadets, in turn, will educate Junior Cadets in schools, creating a mass awareness movement focused on the theme “My Health Is Nagaland’s Wealth.”
This initiative, under the guidance of the North Eastern Region Directorate and Kohima Group Headquarters NCC, encourages the incorporation of yoga, exercise, and traditional sports into daily life, aiming to instill long-term wellness practices within the community.
An inaugural ceremony at Lean Wolf Gym in Arkong Ward, Mokokchung marked the beginning of the programme. Gym equipment worth Rs 20,000 was donated to the facility by Lieutenant Colonel S A Pillai, Sena Medal, Commanding Officer of the 25 Naga Battalion (NCC).
The event was graced by Lanuakum, the Local Councillor of Salangtem Ward, who along with ward elders and gym members, applauded the NCC’s efforts in promoting nation-building and community wellness. In his address, the Councillor highlighted that the NCC continues to embody the values of national integration, discipline, and public service.
“With around 3,715 cadets across 11 districts in Nagaland, the 25 Naga Battalion NCC continues to nurture leadership qualities and a sense of unity among youth from diverse backgrounds,” an update received here stated.
