Mokokchung, 13 July (MTNews): The 3rd edition of the 27 Mokokchung Town A/C NDPP Youth Organization Football Tournament concluded on Thursday with Mongsenbai Ward unit clinching the champions’ title after beating the Kumlong ward unit team by 2 goals to 1 in the final match played at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung.
Speaking at the event as the Chief Match Patron, Minister of Rural Development & SIRD, Metsubo Jamir stated that the tournament should be played in the spirit of brotherhood to foster unity. He was hopeful that the other nine Assembly Constituencies in the district would follow suit to have a common tournament, irrespective of party lines, to promote brotherhood.
The closing function was chaired by Aochuba Longkumer, 27 A/C NDPP General Secretary (Admn), and the invocation was said by Christ Church Pastor, Imliwapang while the vote of thanks was proposed by General Secretary, Takonungsang.
The tournament was sponsored by Temjenmoa Jamir, the proprietor of Nagaland Minerals & Mines.
