Mokokchung, August 22 (MTNews): Two-day training on food processing and value addition for SHGs under Divisional Management Unit (DMU) Mokokchung got underway at Forest Complex, Marepkong, Mokokchung on Monday. A total of twenty-seven SHGs from 9 villages (Mongsenyimti, Mopungchuket, Changtongya New, Sungratsu, Longmisa, Chakpa, Yaongyimsen, Merangkong and Salulamang) are participating in the training program. The program is organized by the DMU Mokokchung under NFMP JICA Project in co-ordination with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mokokchung.

 

 

The inaugural program was chaired by Akumtoshi, Team Leader (FNGO). Keynote address was delivered by Dr. Sentitula, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, Mokokchung followed by inaugural speech by Dr. Keviletsu Khate, Senior Scientist and Head KVK, Mokokchung.

 

The Technical session for the program was chaired by Moaienla Longkumer, Technical Officer, KVK, Mokokchung.

 

During the two-day training program, the trainees will be trained on Sterilization and Bamboo Shoot Pickle; Green Chilli Pickle; Squash and RTS (Ready to Serve); Jam (Pineapple and Papaya); Ginger Candy; and Tapioca Chips.
