Kohima, 14 August (MTNews): A total of 954 police personnel have been awarded Police Medals on the occasion of Independence Day, the Union Home Ministry has announced. The President’s Police Medal for Gallantry has been awarded to CRPF personnel, and the Police Medal for Gallantry has been awarded to 229 personnel, as stated by the Ministry. The President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service has been conferred upon 82 individuals, while the Police Medal for Meritorious Service has been granted to 642 personnel.
From Nagaland, Assistant Commandant Chumoukedima, T Tsenpemo Kikon, will receive the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service. Commandant Phek Yanrenthung Ngullie and Special Secretary (Home) Sonia Singh will be awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Meanwhile, Inspector (Fire & Emergency Services) B Bangdan Phom will be presented with the President’s Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service.
