Salulamang win top honors
Chuchuyimlang, January 13 (MTNews): The 33rd edition of the Langpangkong Kakateshir Mungdang (LKM) Sports Meet which began on January 10 concluded here today with I. Meyionen Jamir, Chief Information Commissioner, Government of Nagaland, as the chief guest.
Men’s football, men’s volleyball and women’s volleyball were the disciplines played at the sports meet between the various units of LKM. While 16 units competed for the men’s football trophy, 9 teams competed in the men’s volleyball and 5 teams participated in the women’s volleyball disciplines.
The football final match was played between Kangtsung and Chuchuyimlang with the former emerging victorious with a solitary goal. Individual awards were also presented in the football discipline where Mulongsungit of Chuchuyimlang was adjudged the Best Goalkeeper; Longrisunep of Kangtsung the Best Defender; Pursunep of Longkong the highest scorer with 5 goals; and Merentemjen of Chuchuyimlang was adjudged the Emerging Player of the tournament. The player of the tournament award went to Pursunep of Longkong.
In the men’s volleyball final match, Changtongya Yimsen were the winners while Changtongya were the runners-up. In the women’s volleyball final, Salulamang triumphed over Chuchuyimlang.
The Chuchuyimlang Kaketshir Telongjem were declared overall champions of the 33rd LKM Sports Meet.
