Revenant and Wasang FC maintain leadership as Senso FC secures first win
Revenant FC and Wasang FC won their respective games to maintain their positions as leaders in the points table, while Senso FC secured their first victory of the season in Gameweek 16 at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung, on Saturday.
In the first match of the day, Wasang FC defeated Terokroker FC 4-1. Chubayanger and Akangmeren each scored a goal for Wasang FC, while Nungshitemjen netted two. The lone goal for Terokroker was scored by the season’s leading goal scorer, Imliyapang, bringing his tally to 19 goals.
With just one point behind table toppers Revenant FC, Wasang was hoping for a favorable outcome in the second match of the day, played between Revenant FC and Trebuchet FC. However, Revenant FC dominated the game, with Tiayanger scoring two goals in the first half. Merenchemba added a third, and veteran Rongsenchiba contributed two more. Moakaba and Takosangba scored a goal each for Trebuchet, but it was not enough to halt the table leaders. With this win, Revenant maintains its lead over second-placed Wasang by one point.
Meanwhile, in the third match, Senso FC finally overcame New Ecllesia FC with a solitary goal from Siddanth Chettri, opening their account in the points table.
