The second half of the 35+ Mokokchung Football League Season 5 resumed today at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung, featuring three matches in what was Gameweek 11 of the season. Ten rounds had been played before the summer break, with the last matches played on June 8, and ten more matches are to be played in the second half of the season that began today.

In the first match played today, Trebuchet FC defeated Senso FC with a comfortable 3-0 margin. Moa Imchen, Bendangmongba, and Shilutsungba scored for Trebuchet in the 26th, 60th, and 70th minutes, respectively. Tiaakum of Trebuchet FC was booked for unsporting behavior.

In the second match, current table toppers and defending champions Revenant FC shared the spoils with second-placed Wasang FC. Imliyanger Longchar scored first for Revenant FC just 6 minutes into the game, and it looked like they were going to extend their lead at the top of the points table. However, Repamayang equalized for Wasang FC in the 30th minute. Neither side managed to break the stalemate after that, with the match ending in a 1-1 draw. Both teams now have 26 points each, with Revenant FC marginally ahead on goal difference.

New Ecclesia FC registered a 3-1 win over Terokroker FC in the third match of the day. Chasu scored the first of his brace in the 37th minute, but his goal was equalized by Imliyapang in the 52nd minute. Chasu then scored his second goal just two minutes later, followed by Moatemsu doubling the lead two minutes after that. Terokroker FC failed to make a comeback.

Terokroker’s Imliyapang remains the leading goal scorer of the season with 13 goals, with Moatemsu Jamir of New Ecclesia FC in second place with 10 goals.

It may be recalled that Revenant FC edged past Wasang FC in the points table in the last game before the summer break when they thrashed Senso FC 6-1, a result that proved decisive as the barrage of goals in that game gave them the edge over Wasang FC on goal difference.

Meanwhile, Senso FC has lost all 11 games played so far this season, conceding 35 goals while scoring only 3.
