The Women Entrepreneurs Network Nagaland (WENN) is set to host the 3rd edition of the WENN Bazar under the theme “Year of Business Governance” from October 11 to 13, 2024, at CTC Square, Chumoukedima. The upcoming event promises to highlight new developments and initiatives aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs across Nagaland, with a focus on fostering growth, innovation, and sustainability in business.

Announcing the event at a press conference in Dimapur on Saturday, WENN representatives shared that the bazar will offer women entrepreneurs a unique platform to showcase their businesses, connect with industry leaders, and engage in knowledge-sharing activities. The bazar will feature stalls showcasing products from various sectors, including food & beverage, beauty & wellness, clothing, handicrafts, and local agricultural produce.

Speaking to the media, WENN stated that the event would also feature technical sessions on business governance, capacity-building workshops, and networking opportunities. These sessions aim to enhance financial literacy and business acumen, allowing women entrepreneurs to grow their ventures effectively and contribute to the local economy.

WENN Bazar 2023 saw participation from 53 entrepreneurs across districts such as Phek, Wokha, Mokokchung, Kohima, and Dimapur, generating sales worth Rs. 18 lakh, according to a Dipr report. Building on last year’s success, the 2024 edition aims to surpass this achievement and further strengthen Nagaland’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

WENN was conceptualised in partnership with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit’s (GIZ) Her&Now, Dhriti, and Investment Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), and launched in April 2022. It was formally registered as a Trust in May 2023 at Dimapur, Nagaland.

WENN Bazar expected outcomes is to increase sales and revenues for participating women entrepreneurs and stakeholders, enhanced brand recognition and market presence for local products, promotion of Nagaland’s culture and heritage through indigenous products, empowerment of women entrepreneurs through financial independence and business growth. WENN invites women entrepreneurs to join and grow in the network.
