3rd Nagaland Photography Festival concludes in Yimchalu Village

The 3rd Nagaland Photography Festival, held at Yimchalu Village, Mokokchung, and organized by the Photography Club Dimapur in collaboration with Yimchalu village, concluded on September 21, 2024. The event featured MLA and Advisor for Information & Public Relations, Soil & Water Conservation, Government of Nagaland, Imkong L Imchen, as the special guest during the closing ceremony.

In his brief remarks, the Advisor expressed his gratitude for being part of the festival. He cited the significance of photography in various aspects of life, noting that photographic evidence holds historical importance and is often considered proven evidence in court. He further stated that photography is vital historically, socially, and legally, impacting important facets of people’s lives, adding that “it makes a world of itself.”

While congratulating the organizers for successfully conducting the event, he also encouraged the youth to take the initiative to conduct similar events across the state to showcase their talents and promote the art of photography.

The Advisor also recalled his role in securing government recognition for Yimchalu village in its formative years back in 2006 when he served as the Power Minister.

The program included a prize distribution ceremony for all competition winners held during the 3-day festival. The vote of thanks was delivered by Meyisanger Lemtur, Convener of the 3rd Nagaland Photography Festival. The event concluded with a musical extravaganza featuring performances by various artists.
