Mokokchung district has been in the forefront of motorsports events in the state since the early ‘90s but for the very first time, four young racers from the district are set to compete in the prestigious Indian National Autocross Championship (INAC) 2022 Grand Finals to be held from 27th to 29th January 2023 in Bangalore.
One of the most popular motorsports events in the country, the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) INAC 2022 Grand Finals is set to take place at the Devanahalli Tuluk Sports Stadium in Bangalore.
The 4 racers will compete in various categories in the INAC Grand Finals depending on the engine capacity of the car as well as modifications done.
Imtisanen Longkumer, Lanusunep Jamir and Tsuktimongba Jamir will be competing in the INAC-3 (Open Category) and the INAC-2 (1450cc Category) while Tzudiyong Jamir will compete in the INAC-3 (1650cc Category). All four racers are members of Spearhead Motorsport Initiative, Mokokchung.
It may be recalled that the East Zone leg (Round 7) qualifiers of INAC 2022 was hosted by Adventure and Motorsports Association Mokokchung (AMAM), at Rempukong, near Ungma village, Mokokchung on 4th of November 2022. The qualifiers from the round received direct entry into the INAC Grand Finals.
INAC 2022, which consisted of an eight-round Nationals spread across all the zones in the country, kicked off in Bangalore on June 11 and 12 and will conclude with a two-round extravaganza in the grand finals.
The INAC 2022 is promoted by Bangalore Motor Sports (BMS).
The 2018 Autocross was the last Nationals and the finals were held in Vijayawada (AP) in January 2019.
