As the 40th Nagaland Police Duty-cum-Sports Meet 2024 reached its penultimate day on Tuesday at NAPTC Stadium, Chümoukedima, over 2,029 participants from 34 units competed in 5 game disciplines and 10 duty items. According to an update, a total of 154 medals and 39 trophies were up for grabs. Events for all game disciplines and duty items have been completed, with results declared.

In Volleyball, CP Dimapur was crowned champion after defeating 14th NAP (IR) in a competitive final, with DEF Kiphire securing the hardline. In Boxing, 13th NAP (IR) emerged as the team champion, followed by 12th NAP (IR) as the runner-up and DEF Mokokchung in the hardline. In Badminton, DEF Tuensang claimed the team championship, with 6th NAP as the runner-up and 2nd NAP in the hardline. In Football, 6th NAP was crowned champion, with 1st NAP as runner-up and DEF Mon in the hardline.

In the duty items, 3rd NAP won the team championship in the BPET (Battle Physical Efficiency Test), securing gold, followed by 8th NAP with silver and 12th NAP (IR) with bronze. In Shooting, 9th NAP (IR) emerged as the team champion, with NAPTC as runner-up and 12th NAP (IR) and 4th NAP tying for third place.

In Weapons Handling, 12th NAP (IR) won gold, 10th NAP (IR) took silver, and NAPTC won bronze. In the Bugle competition, DEF Kiphire won gold, 1st NAP took silver, and DEF Phek secured bronze. In the Motor Transport competition, 1st NAP won gold, 12th NAP (IR) took silver, and 13th NAP (IR) earned bronze. In the Wireless competition, 1st NAP won gold, DEF Peren claimed silver, and 9th NAP (IR) won bronze.

The Family Welfare competition awarded prizes based on annual activity reports, with 2nd NAP in first place, 15th Mahila NAP (IR) in second place, and 9th NAP (IR) in third place. The Drill competition will feature in the closing ceremony on 20th November 2024, where 15th Mahila NAP (IR), 12th NAP (IR), and 5th NAP will compete for the prestigious trophy.

In the overall medal tally, 1st NAP and 12th NAP (IR) are in contention for the title of overall champion. The closing ceremony will be held at the NAPTC Grounds on 20th November 2024 at 14:30 hrs, with Shri Sharingain Longkumer, Hon’ble Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, attending as the special guest.
