Mokokchung, 6 November (MTNews): Bye –election polling for 43 Tapi Assembly Constituency under Mon district is set to take place tomorrow. A total of 15256 voters will be casting their votes in 23 polling stations under five sectors. SDO (Civil), Mon, Rongsengmenla informed that mock polls will begin at 5:30 am and the polling will start at 7:00 am. She added that Law and order remained peaceful.

Ahead of the polling day, Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) and Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) devices in Mon have been dispatched today. General Observer MG Rajamaniackam, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Ajit Kumar Verma, Superintendent of Police Mon Shiluwabang I Longkumer, and Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) and Returning Officer of 43 Tapi AC Mon, Rongsenmenla were present during the dispatching exercise.

The Nagaland government also declared paid holiday for all institutions and establishments in the constituency on the polling day. The 43-Tapi Assembly Constituency seat under Mon District fell vacant after sitting MLA and Advisor to the Social Welfare Department, Government of Nagaland, Noke Wangnao passed away on 28 August this year. Counting of votes will be held on 3 December.
