At least five major landslides occurred along NH 702 D in the last 24 hours after incessant rains. National Highways department personnel on site confirmed to Mokokchung Times that all the landslides have been cleared.
Two of the major landslides occurred between New Camp and Changki X Junction while the other occurred between Changki X Junction and Longtho. Besides, at least 20 minor landslides occurred along the same stretch of the road. Sources said that, while the road is now clear, landslides could occur again if the torrential rains continue to pour. However, it was also confirmed that the personnel will remain on site in case of any eventuality.
