Reiterates exclusion of CSOs from Reservation Review Commission
The 5 Tribes Committee on Review of Reservation Policy has expressed strong discontent with the clarification issued by the Chief Secretary of Nagaland regarding the proposed Reservation Review Commission.
In a press release issued from its camp office in Dimapur on Tuesday, the Committee stated, “We are extremely disappointed with the clarification issued by the Chief Secretary Nagaland that sought from the CSOs, credible and qualified person from the communities they represent to be a member in the proposed Reservation Review Commission and not office bearers of the CSO.”
The Committee asserted that if this clarification is the outcome of the State Cabinet meeting held on Monday, “it is a direct insult to the collective intelligence of 5 tribes as our demand in the first place was for total exclusion of CSOs from the proposed Commission, whether be it office bearers or their nominee.”

Reaffirming its earlier stance, the Committee said, “We stand by our 9th August Resolution which was reproduced in our representation submitted to the State Government. We expect the State Government to give us positive response instead of attempting to delay and deny the legitimate demands raised in our representation.”
Further, the Committee declared that its ongoing boycott of State Government events will continue. “Meanwhile, our non-participation in all State Government functions and meetings will continue until further orders,” the press release added.
The statement was signed by Er Tesinlo Semy, Convenor, and GK Zhimomi, Member Secretary.
