The 5 Tribes Committee on Review of Reservation Policy has reiterated its earlier decision of non-participation in all state government meetings, events, and functions, declaring that the resolution adopted on August 9 “remains in force until further notice.”

In a press release issued on Sunday, the Committee stated, “In reference to the resolution adopted during the meeting of the five apex tribal bodies held on 9th August 2025, which calls for non-participation in all government meetings, events, and functions, it is hereby reiterated that the resolution remains in force until further notice.”

It informed that “all five apex tribal bodies, along with their respective frontal organizations and constituent units, are advised to strictly adhere to and enforce the resolution within their respective jurisdictions.”

The Committee further announced that “the five apex tribal bodies will abstain from participating in the coordination meeting convened by the Department of Tourism, scheduled for 18th August 2025 (Monday). Likewise, any similar meetings, events, or functions organized by the State Government—at either the state or district level—shall not be attended by the five apex tribal bodies until the State Government responds positively to the demands raised in our representation to the Chief Secretary Nagaland on 9th Aug 2025.”

The signatories, Convenor Er Tesinlo Semy and Member Secretary GK Zhimomi, appealed, “We seek the understanding and cooperation of all concerned in upholding the collective decision.”
