52nd Lotha Students’ Union General Conference culminates

Wokha, 12 January (MTNews): The three-day 52nd Lotha Students’ Union General Conference culminated today at Liphanyan ground with Mmhonlumo Kikon, Advisor IT, Science & Technology and New & Renewable Energy, Government of Nagaland as the valedictory special guest.

 

 

Orenthung Lotha, Additional Secretary, Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland graced the event as the special guest in the morning cultural program where he stated that everyone is educated and literate and is also aware of the things that are affecting their lives in the contemporary world.

Lotha also pointed out that the election is near amidst the Nagas demanding for a solution and that these are some of the latest issues that can directly or indirectly affect the youth’s future.

 

“We have changed a lot through Christianity, including our lifestyle and culture. This generation is also known as the Technology Generation, it can benefit us a lot or it can make our life difficult,” he said.

 

He also informed the students about the Chief Minister Micro Finance Loan and encouraged the students to think creatively and implement it into a business since there are many Graduates, MA, MSC degree holders in every Naga household and urged them to avail the opportunity.

 

Meanwhile, Mmhonlumo highlighted how the creation of NSSB is a historical legacy in Nagaland and challenged the students to crack competitive exams through hard work.

 

He also said that back in 1964 it was easy to get a Government job but today, the era has changed and there are fewer chances of getting a government job by every educated youth.

 

He also acknowledged the LSU for working together with the NSF and ENSF in the critical demand of implementing NSSB and called them the voice of the generation and congratulated them for the visionary step taken.

 

He also highlighted how most of the problems have been solved by the Prime Minister such as the JJM tap water connection in every household and added that Nagaland has received Rs.15000 crores to build roads in Nagaland.

 

Encouraging the congregation to read a pearl of wisdom, he said “It is what you read that influences you.”

 

Later in the evening, an extravaganza program was graced by Vungthungo V Lotha, senior principal GHSS Wokha and former General Secretary LSU as the special guest.

 

Earlier during the first session of the day, president of the Central Nagaland Students’ Association delivered words of greeting while the president of the Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) delivered a greeting message during the culmination program.
