According to Jamir, job seekers are struggling to find employment due to a lack of skills. He stated that out of the 524 million labor force in India, 25 million young people are part of the labor force, and among them, 65-75% of job seekers are unable to secure employment due to skill deficiencies.

He emphasized the importance of acquiring skills, especially in the era of AI, where it is projected that 40% of jobs are replaceable. Jamir cited unverified sources indicating that 26% of postgraduates in Nagaland are unemployed due to a lack of skills and readiness for the industry. He also shared his observation that local attitudes toward job seeking differ, noting that some local employees appear less committed due to divided interests between private and government sector jobs.

“It is often discouraging because local employees have one foot in the private sector and the other in government jobs. Consequently, it appears that locals lack commitment to their jobs,” he remarked.
