The 6th edition of the Chakhesang Baptist Church Ministers Hill, Kohima (CBCMHK) Men’s Fellowship (MF) Annual Sports Week 2024 got underway today at the Kohima Science College ground in Jotsoma, under the theme “Reach the Unreached Through Sports.” A total of eleven teams are participating in the sports meet.
CBCMHK Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao, graced the inaugural ceremony as the special guest and declared the sports open.
In his address, Phesao urged the Men’s Department to be mentors for both the family and society, guiding people with the wisdom and guidance of God Almighty. He emphasized that sports unite people and bring the downtrodden together under a unified umbrella, adding that the Men’s Department is committed to reaching out to all lost souls and bringing them back to Christ.
According to a press statement issued by the CBCMHK Media & Publicity Committee, the two-day sports competition featured Relay Race, Volleyball, and Penalty Shootout, with 11 teams competing.
Day 1 witnessed the Relay Race and Volleyball events, with the following results:
1. Relay Race

2nd – New Ministers Hill/Aradura
(49 YEARS & BELOW)
1st – PR Hill/Officers Hill/Supply
2nd – PWD/Chandmari/Midland/Town Area
2. Volleyball
1st – PWD/Chandmari/Midland/Town Area
2nd – Lower Forest
3rd – Lerie/NST/New Reserve
Day 2 will resume tomorrow at 8:30 AM, featuring the Penalty Shootout competition. An exhibition Volleyball match will also be played between the Pastoral Team and the Men’s Fellowship Team. The organizers have appealed to all participating teams to be on time.

Meanwhile, CBCMHK Associate Pastor, Rev. Thujoneyi Veswuh, will share words of encouragement during the Valedictory session, while Men’s Fellowship Treasurer, Tewetsolo Khamo, will lead the function. To close the event, all delegates will recite a mass closing declaration: “In the name of God and in the name of the believers present, I declare the 6th Men’s Annual Sports Meet closed,” followed by a mass spoken prayer and the de-hoisting of the flags.
