956 women assisted in Nagaland by One Stop Centres since inception

Mokokchung, December 7 (MTNews): According to Union Minister for Women & Child Development, Smriti Zubin Irani, 956 women have been assisted in Nagaland by One Stop Centres since its inception till September 2022.

 

Meanwhile, over 6.22 lakh women have been assisted across the country till September, 2022. She informed this in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today.

 

She also informed that the Ministry of Women and Child Development has approved 758 One Stop Centres (OSCs) to be set up in 734 districts across the country, out of which 730 OSCs have been operationalized in 36 States/ UTs.

 

The OSCs has provisions for providing temporary shelter up to 5 days to the distressed women.

 

The guidelines of Mission Shakti provide the eligibility for engagement of manpower under the OSC component. The guideline does not debar any eligible victim or survivor of violence, rape and acid attack from engagement in these centers for psycho-social support and counseling.
