Kohima, August 22 (MTNews): Governor of Nagaland and Assam Prof. Jagdesh Mukhi graced the occasion of the 32nd Graduation Day celebration at the College Indoor stadium, St. Joseph’s College Jakhama on 22 August 2022, felicitating 1259 Undergraduates and 102 Postgraduates.
Mukhi in his address commended the College for leaving an indelible mark in the legacy of education in Nagaland. He congratulated all the graduates of various departments on completing their degrees from this distinguished institution and also complimented the faculty members, administrative team and the parents of the graduating students for their selfless support in achieving this milestone.
He said that he was glad to know this College holds the distinction of being the largest college in Nagaland ever since its inception in 1985 and that it is remarkable to know that the institution has emerged as one of the top autonomous colleges in the North East.
He also mentioned that St. Joseph’s College has been accredited with Grade ‘A’ by the NAAC in 2016 and further added that the college seems to have left no stone unturned in providing quality higher education to the youth of Nagaland as well as neighbouring states.
Mukhi stated that, Nagaland stands on the launch pad of significant change and development and the youths of today have a great responsibility towards enhancing this progression of this hugely beautiful and resourceful state.
Earlier in the program, Principal St. Joseph’s College, Dr. Fr. George Keduolhou Angami delivered the welcome address. Bishop of Nagaland, Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil gave a short message and blessing to the graduates.

Later the Governor also conferred the Graduation Day Award 2022 to eleven different graduates –

4. Dr. Talimeren Ao Award – Mecievi Khieya

6. Best Science Student Award – Hosea Kent
7. Alumni Association Award – Temjenmenla Walling
8. Avika Achumi Memorial Award – Ukumari Bisukarma
9. Chikrophuyo Memorial Award – K Benjamin
10. Khriebuno Nagi Literary Award – Moanaro Jamir
11. Capt. Regina Razousinuo Award – Zuchobeni Humtsoe
