Mokokchung, September 22 (MTNews): Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton on Thursday while replying to a question on ILP registration and renewal mentioned that the total number of fresh ILP Registration issued by all the authorized offices w.e.f 1st January 2022 till date was 11,718 where 6,173 ILPs were issued to both domestic and foreign tourists by Commissioner’s Office Kohima.

 

According to him, the total number of ILP renewals w.e.f 1st January 2022 till 16th September 2022 was 15,851. He added that the Commissioner Nagaland, Deputy Commissioners, ADCs, the Nagaland Houses at New Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati and Shillong are all authorized to issue offline/online ILP for various categories.

 

Further, MLA, Azo Nienu shared his concern over the menace of Bangladeshi immigrants buying lands in their local spouses’ names and taking over the businesses, to which, Chief Minister Rio reminded the “procedure of indigenous inhabitant registration in Nagaland.”

 

“The Village Chairman has the authority to determine the native inhabitant subject to verification by the district administration; however, the misuse of the authority is liable to punishment,” he said.

 

He also stressed on “streamlining of the registration procedure” and cautioned against the harassment of Indian citizens working in Nagaland.
