Located about a little over 30 kilometers from Mokokchung town, Asangma is a village in the Langpangkong Range. The village falls under Tuli circle and can ideally be reached by taking the Asetkong-Tzüsangra road.

It is said that caryota trees were endemic to the area where the village is now located. Founders of the village cleared the caryota trees, locally called asangdong, to establish the village and named the village after it.
