Ramakhant Giri, a construction engineer associated with Nithin Sai Construction Pvt Ltd as a Senior Supervisor, who was abducted reportedly by the NSCN-K (YA) on September 21, has been released by the abductors on Sunday. According to a Langpangkong Tzükong Mungdang source, Giri was ‘safely’ released by the abductors at Changtongya on Sunday evening. After his release, Giri reported at the Changtongya Police Station where necessary formalities were undertaken. Efforts to reach the Changtongya Police over phone failed and further details were awaited till the filing of this report.
It may be recalled that Giri was reportedly abducted from Changtongya by ‘unknown persons’ on September 21 after which a number of local organizations of the area demanded his safe release. Nithin Sai Construction Pvt Ltd, the firm Ramakhant Giri is associated with, is engaged in the Changtongya to Longleng two-lane road construction project.
