Mokokchung, September 26 (MTNews): Union Minister of State for Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, Electronics, and Technology, Government of India, Rajeev Chandrashekhar visited Zunheboto District on 26th September 2022 making him the first Union Minister to Visit the district of Zunheboto in four decades.
Chandrashekhar while addressing the officials present said that a skill development plan should be set up in the district. He also advised that the aspirations in schools and colleges be mapped and to think out of the box.
“Make Government colleges part of the skill development for the youth, and create institutions as part of the ecosystem,” he said.
In the agriculture and handicrafts sector, he suggested that connection be made with the market and try to scale it. He said, “structural issues should be looked at by the state government, try to connect the entrepreneurs to the market, and create an atmosphere for the investors.”
During the meeting with the Heads of Offices, Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali gave a PowerPoint presentation on Zunheboto District where he highlighted the agriculture sector, electricity, lack of IT infrastructures, MSME, etc. The Deputy Commissioner also highlighted the ongoing schemes in the district.
During his visit, the Union Minister of State held meetings with Lok Sabha Yojana Core committee (district), MLAs, District Government Officials, Sumi Hoho, GBs, SKK, SKH, scheme beneficiaries, the business community, and social workers.
He later visited Wokha where he addressed a public meeting in Longsa village.
