Mokokchung, October 5 (MTNews): Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly Sharingain Longkumer inaugurated a Training Centre for Differently Abled Persons at the Care and Support Society (C&SS) office, Mokokchung on Saturday, making it the sixth program initiated by the NGO.

 

NLA Speaker Sharingain Longkumer inaugurated a training centre for differently abled persons at C&SS in Mokokchung on October 8.

The main objective of the training centre is to help the differently abled people discover their abilities and train them with various vocational training which will help them earn a livelihood and thereby, empower them and make society an inclusive society for them.

 

“The imaginative power of a differently abled person is enhanced better than a normal person… me and my family will help promote any art created by disabled persons through the training provided by this training centre,” said Sharingain Longkumer while delivering a short speech at the inauguration.

 

In the same program, 3 PwD beneficiaries were given sewing machines which were donated by the Speaker and Bonita Gurung.

 

Care and Support Society is a Non-Governmental Organization which was established in 1995 and registered in 2001. Presently, 5 programs are being initiated under C&SS, these are: Mobile ICTC, Family Counseling Centre, Targeted Intervention (TI), Childline 1098 and Children Home.
