Kohima, November 14 (MTNews): The ongoing agitation by the Department Recruited Aggrieved Nurses (DRAN) 2021 entered its second phase on Monday. The Health & Family Welfare Department and the agitating nurses held a meeting on Monday but it remained inconclusive.
An update from DRAN 2021 stated that during the meeting, the H&FW department officials, headed by its Secretary, tried to convince the nurses to sit for the NPSC exam but they rejected it and reiterated their “legitimate right” for regularization of service.

DRAN 2021 also informed in the update that the Angami Students’ Union visited them and assured all possible help to the nurses. The agitating nurses also thanked the public for their support and contributions and prayed that their issue is not politicized.
The aggrieved nurses were recruited during the COVID-19 pandemic and have been demanding the state government to regularize their service. They have been staging a sit-in protest at the Secretariat junction in Kohima since November 9.
