Mokokchung, November 16 (MTNews): The Department Recruited Aggrieved Nurses (DRAN) 2021 on Wednesday held a meeting at the Secretariat Junction and decided to go forward with its 3rd phase of agitation. A DRAN update received here stated that they had a meeting with the Department officials for the 5th time. “This time all the DRAN members were invited to attend the meeting,” it said, and added that the meeting was inconclusive.

 

“DRAN members got very dismayed as their pleas were falling on deaf ears,” it said.

 

As such, the DRAN members decided to stage a ‘Dharna’ from November 17 whereby they will not leave the site of the protest until their demands are fulfilled.

 

It was further informed that they also had a cordial meeting with the Trained Nurses Association of India, Nagaland. “TNAI said that they are fully aware of the ongoing 2nd phase agitation by the Covid recruited Nurses'(125),” the update reported.

 

At least three Students’ Unions from various tribes are also reported to have visited the aggrieved nurses to show their solidarity and support to the ongoing agitation by the 125 Covid Nurses’.

DRAN has once again thanked all their supporters and well-wishers. DRAN consists of 125 members who were recruited during the Covid-19 pandemic.
