Mokokchung, November 26 (MTNews): The Central Nagaland Women Association (CNWA) has expressed its concern about several unresolved issues that primarily impact women, including the non as yet implemented Register of Indigenous Inhabitants of Nagaland.
In a press release issued by the Information & Publicity Secretary of CNWA on Saturday, CNWA questioned the Government of Nagaland why RIIN has not been implemented yet when the cabinet has already approved it, and appealed to the government to enforce RIIN at the earliest.
CNWA had recently completed their 3rd phase tour of Wokha district. “While it was an enriching tour for the members, various pending important issues were deliberated upon with the constituent units of Kohima Town; the Lotha Eloe Hoho Wokha; Lotha Yingsung Olongo Eloe Ekhung Sanis; Bhandari Town Lotha Eloe Hoho and Ralan Range Lotha Eloe Hoho,” the press release said.
Saying that it has toured the “backward areas in the Lotha district,” the CNWA also sought to bring the attention of the government to the Ralan area where it said the villagers’ grievances are ignored regarding the border issue and the threat the villagers face on a daily basis. “It is of great concern and the government should not turn a blind eye to these issues,” it maintained.
CNWA also said that it has resolved to strongly stand with the CNTC to implement “pocket-wise reservation to uplift the rightfully affected groups.”
