Kohima, November 28 (MTNews): Chairman of UDA and former Chief Minister TR Zeliang on Monday inaugurated the Rhododendron Park at Jakhama.
Medo Yhokha ,Advisor to CM; Keneizhakho Nakhro, Chairman of Kohima District planning Board and MLA Yitachu were also present at the inauguration.
Zeliang later tweeted that it was a noble concept by the owner of the park who has over the years toiled to conserve the State Flower of Nagaland.
“Many species of the Rhododendron are endemic to the State of Nagaland and we should help conserve and protect it from extinction. The rich flora and fauna of our State is being depleted due to over exploitation.
However, with noble concepts and sincere efforts, we can revive and make our forests green and beautiful again and promote eco-tourism for economic profitability. I wish the Rhododendron Park Jakhama all the success and may it instill and inspire many more towards conservation of our plants,” Zeliang tweeted.
