The Nagaland Bamboo Resource Centre, 6th Mile, Sovima, Chümoukedima, hosted the “Naga Thali Challenge” Eating Competition with the theme “Dangerously Delicious,” and Akhar emerged as the champion, finishing the massive meal in 13 minutes and 57 seconds.

The competition was held to promote and highlight Naga cuisine in order to boost tourism and present Nagaland as a unique destination.
The competition was organized by the Native Trax Society (NTS) and held as part of the Hornbill Festival in collaboration with the NBDA and the Nagaland Department of Tourism. The event is also supported by TaFMA, Techno Music India, Cinescope, Red box, Loreni Wardrobe, Myriad Branding (Branding Partner) & Hills FM (Radio Partner).
The event pitted eight contestants against one another in their attempt to finish a massive ethnic Naga meal. The crowd at the venue applauded and supported them enthusiastically. The winner received a Rs. 10,000 cash prize.
