Kohima, 1 June (MTNews): A momentous event unfolded at Akashvani Kohima (All India Radio) on 1 June as the Pochury Programme Live was officially launched. The launch of this programme marks a significant milestone for the Pochury people, bringing them together emotionally and contributing to the preservation and development of their language. The initiative is expected to foster stronger relationships with other tribes and propel the Pochury people to greater heights.
During the launch, Siewatho S Nyusou, the Vice President of Kohima based Pochury Hoho and Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations, expressed his joy at the realization of a dream that took nearly three decades to come to fruition. He emphasized the unifying power of the program and its importance in safeguarding the Pochury language. Furthermore, he highlighted the potential benefits for inter-tribal relationships, fostering a sense of unity and progress among the Pochuries.
LK Mulony, the ADP & Head of Program (HOP), officially launched the Pochury Programme Live and shared that this has been a cherished aspiration for many years. He announced that listeners can tune in to the primary channel at 639KW and FM Tragopan FM 103MH at 11:35 AM to catch the programme. Mulony also revealed that, by October 1, 2023, the language news segment will be extended to 30 minutes, providing even more comprehensive coverage.
