Kohima, 7 June (MTNews): The Angami Public Organization (APO) and Kohima Village Council (KVC) have appealed to the leaders of the Naga Club and the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) regarding the recent developments at a “historic site.” Recognizing the potential long-term consequences of unresolved conflicts, both organizations urged for immediate action to prevent further escalation and seek a meaningful reconciliation.

In their appeal, the APO and KVC called upon both parties to refrain from issuing press statements or engaging in any actions that may worsen the situation. They emphasize the need for restraint and a cessation of activities that could further provoke tensions. Instead, they urged both sides to consider involving a willing and voluntary third party to mediate and facilitate discussions outside of the legal court system, with the aim of restoring normalcy and fostering a genuine reconciliation.

Addressing the Naga Club specifically, the APO and KVC request that no further activities be undertaken at the site in light of the volatile public sentiments both for and against such actions. They acknowledged the need to preserve peace and harmony within the community and urged for respectful consideration of these sentiments.

In a similar vein, the APO and KVC called upon the NSF to withdraw the First Information Report (FIR) lodged, as a gesture of goodwill and an opportunity to seek an amicable solution that is acceptable and honorable to both parties.
