Kohima, June (MTNews): The Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, held an interactive program today with students and School Managing Committee members of Zeliangrong Heraka School in Tening. The event took place at the Dr. Imkongliba Hall in Raj Bhavan, Kohima.

During his speech, Governor Ganesan expressed his happiness and appreciation for the fact that students from 25 villages across Assam, Manipur, and Nagaland have benefited from this school. He acknowledged that a majority of the students attending this institution come from poor and underprivileged families, and he commended the teachers for their honorary social work in educating these children. Governor Ganesan highlighted the remarkable growth of the school, from its humble beginnings as a primary school to its present status as a high school serving not only Nagaland but also Assam and Manipur.

 

The Governor further emphasized the school’s commitment to the all-round development of the tribal community and the emotional and cultural integrity of the nation. He stressed the importance of education in empowering individuals to protect and preserve their indigenous culture. Governor Ganesan encouraged the school to go beyond traditional classroom education and provide additional opportunities to the students. These opportunities include personality development camps, exposure tours to different states, science tours, participation in state-level and national-level Children Science Congress, organizing literature competitions, cultural days, and more.

 

The Governor highlighted that such activities are essential for the holistic development of students and contribute to the strengthening of the nation by fostering unity among tribal communities.

 

Additionally, Governor Ganesan congratulated Zeliangrong Heraka School on achieving a remarkable feat of securing a 100% pass result in the HSLC Exam for 13 consecutive years since 2011. He attributed this accomplishment to the hard work put in by the students, teachers, and the school management.

 

The interactive program also featured an address by Talmsi Newmai, the administrator of Zeliangrong Heraka School in Tening. Newmai provided insights into the school’s establishment, objectives, achievements, and performances. She expressed her gratitude to Governor Ganesan and his staff for hosting this interactive program, which was immensely beneficial to the students.

 

To mark the occasion, the students of Zeliangrong Heraka School enthralled the audience with cultural dances and a patriotic song.
