Mokokchung, 29 June (MTNews): The Nagaland Congress Sevadal has come down heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his silence on the ongoing Manipur crisis and claimed that the crisis reflects leadership failure at the highest level.
The Nagaland chapter of the Congress party’s grassroots organization lambasted the PM and his party in a series of tweets on its official Twitter account on Thursday. The Sevadal said that the loss of life and property was the responsibility of the prime minister and his team, “but as usual they are busy making ‘apda mein avsar’.”
“There was a time when the north east was peaceful because people there are sweet and peace loving. Then they chose BJP,” the Sevadal critiqued. It then said, “The burning crisis in Manipur is a failure of the BJP’s leadership. They must acknowledge their shortcomings and take immediate steps to ensure the safety and well-being of the people. Will They?”
It went on to say that the BJP’s incompetence in dealing with the burning crisis in Manipur has caused immense harm to the state and its people. “It’s time for them to listen, learn, and take decisive action,” it said, adding that the crisis in Manipur is a wake-up call to address the leadership failure at the highest level. “The people deserve strong and responsible leadership. Do we have one?” it asked.
“The state of Manipur is in turmoil, and it’s a clear reflection of leadership failure. PM Modi’s absence and silence are unacceptable,” it said. “The people of Manipur are paying the price for leadership failure. PM Modi’s lack of proactive measures has worsened the situation,” it added.
It claimed that the lack of leadership and timely intervention in Manipur has allowed the flames to spread and that PM Modi must take responsibility for this failure. Claiming that the burning crisis in Manipur exposes the leadership failure of PM Modi, it said it is time for responsible and effective governance.
“The suffering in Manipur is a direct result of leadership failure. PM Modi’s silence and inaction speak volumes. The people deserve better.”
“The ongoing violence in Manipur is a tragic consequence of leadership failure,” it reiterated, further adding that it was about time PM Modi stopped empty rhetoric and dramatics and genuinely assisted the state.
