Foothill Road: NFHRCC shares progress report after joint inspection

Kohima, 1 July (MTNews): A joint inspection team led by Convenor Supu Jamir along with representatives from the Nagaland Foothill Road Co-ordination Committee (NFHRCC) team and PWD (R&B) Divisional Officials recently conducted an inspection of the ongoing Foothill Road construction project. The inspection, carried out on 27 and 28 June focused on different divisions and involved multiple construction companies.

An update from the NFHRCC said that the inspection covered the following agencies and divisions: M/S Humtsoe Construction Ltd (Naginimora Division); M/S W. Chingkam Phom (Tuli Division); M/S R.K. Construction (Longleng Division); and M/S H.H Co. Construction & Supplier (Mangkolemba Division).

During the on-site verification, the joint inspection team found that the construction works were in line with the specifications outlined in the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs).

The Naganimora Division reported a commendable 100% completion rate, demonstrating the efficient execution of the construction project. The Tuli Division reported significant progress, with completion ranging between 75% and 85%. The Longleng Division proudly showcased 100% completion, indicating the successful implementation of the project in that area. Similarly, the Mangkolemba Division reported a completion rate of 75%, with further progress expected in the coming months. The remaining portions of these divisions are anticipated to be completed by December 2023.

As part of the inspection process, public meetings were held at Anaki-C, Tuli, and Yajang-C, where representatives from the Village Councils Forum of Anaki area, Village Councils Forum of Yajang Area, Tsudikong (Tuli) Joint Councils Forum, and Langpangkong Road Construction Committee actively participated.

Looking ahead, the press release highlighted that the remaining Foothill Road sectors in the Baghty Division, covering a considerable distance of 89-92 kilometers across various districts, which is the longest stretch, will be taken up at the earliest before the second week of July.
