Mokokchung, 7 July (MTNews): A free Medical camp was organized by 2nd NAP Unit Family Welfare in association with Health and Family Welfare Department under the aegis of CMO Mokokchung on 7 July at 2nd NAP Battalion Headquarters, Alichen.
The camp also featured an awareness program on sensitization and awareness on TB, substance abuse, HIV/AIDS and ill effects of tobacco use.

Seven Medical Doctors, three counselors and fifteen supporting staff from CMO Mokokchung along with unit medical staff conducted the camp.

 

A topic on sensitization and awareness on TB was delivered by Dr R Toshila Jamir, District Tuberculosis Officer Mokokchung; substance abuse by Achila, OST Counsellor, IMDH; HIV/AIDS by Sapo Aier, counselor, mobile ICTC; and ill effects of tobacco use by Nukshiwati Longchar, District Consultant NTCP.

 

This camp was undertaken under the initiative of the unit commandant Vekhosa Chakhesang.

 

Dr Lhishelo Tsuhah was the team leader of the free medical camp.

 

132 patients including wives and children of the unit personnel and elderly persons within the camp areas were treated and provided with free medicines.
