Mokokchung, 8 July (MTNews): In an attempt to prioritize the safety of Food Storage Depots across the country and ensure the nation’s food security remains intact during any untoward incident, a Fire Evacuation cum Mock Drill was successfully conducted at the FCI-Food Storage Depot in Mokokchung. The drill was jointly organized by the Divisional Office of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) in Dimapur, in collaboration with the Fire & Emergency Services Department of the Government of Nagaland.

The Fire Evacuation cum Mock Drill aimed to educate the staff, security personnel, laborers, and truck drivers of FCI Mokokchung on fire safety procedures. The Officer-in-Charge of the Fire Station Mokokchung was responsible for imparting the necessary training during the drill.

 

Rongsen T Imsong, the Depot In-charge of FCI-FSD Mokokchung, emphasized that the objective of the drill was to assess the operational readiness of the fire safety appliances located within the godown and also to provide the participants with safety guidelines and precautionary measures to effectively use the fire safety equipment in the event of a fire or other emergencies.
