The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Mokokchung, celebrated its Freshers’ Day 2023 with great enthusiasm today, under the theme “NUEVOS COMIENZOS,” signifying “New Beginnings” in Spanish.

The institute’s auditorium was the stage for an array of performances, speeches, and the crowning of Mr and Miss Freshers 2023.

 

The freshers’ self-introduction segment stole the limelight as the new students presented themselves to their peers and faculty. They shared their aspirations and hopes for their two-year journey at the institute. In total, 30 freshers took the stage to embark on this new academic adventure. The titles of Mr and Miss Freshers 2023 were awarded to Bendangrenba and Merenyangla Jamitsur respectively.

 

Temsuwapang Longchar, the Vice Principal of DIET Mokokchung, delivering the exhortation, welcomed the freshers into the DIET family. He emphasized the presence of a highly qualified and experienced faculty ready to guide them on the path to success. Acknowledging the challenges of the two-year course, Longchar stressed the importance of resilience and hard work to complete it.

 

Speaking on behalf of the senior students, Talikala addressed the audience on the topic ‘Equip Yourself.’ She underlined the significance of self-preparation and self-improvement for a successful academic journey.

 

Bendenla Jamir, representing the first-year students, elaborated on the theme ‘Embracing Learning Together.’ She shared her vision for a collaborative and progressive academic year ahead, encouraging her fellow students to embrace the journey with open hearts and open minds.

 

The celebrations also included a special musical performance titled “The Climb” led by Tianaro and Imlisashi. Additionally, the second-year students presented a comedic sketch and dance titled ‘Welcome to the Family’ led by Mhasingunuo.
