Kohima, 6 September (MTNews): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) lauded the educational reforms announced by Advisor of School Education, Dr Kekhrie Yhome on Teachers’ Day 2023.
While commending Advisor Dr Yhome for his bold leadership in addressing the issue of proxy teachers, the Federation also urged upon the Government of Nagaland and the concerned department to implement stringent measures to “identify and remove proxy teachers” from all Educational institutions by adopting Zero Tolerance for Proxy Teachers.
Furthermore, the Federation also appealed to the State Government to implement a Biometric System of attendance and strictly enforce it in all Government Schools across the state in order to curb the menace of Proxy Teachers once and for all.
The Federation also noted that “certain individuals have been exercising political connections to obtain transfer orders to places of their convenience,” which the federation has observed has caused significant hindrances and irreparable damage to the teaching-learning process. They aim, in particular, to bring about a fair and equitable learning environment in their educational institutions.
The federation also stated that the Naga Students’ Federation will continue to extend their fullest support and cooperation to the Government of Nagaland in implementing all forward-thinking education reforms and initiatives.
“It is our belief that these initiatives will not only improve the quality of education but also contribute to the overall development of our society,” the NSF added.
