Kohima, 15 September (MTNews): The newly established Directorate of Minority Affairs in Nagaland formally dedicated its office on 13 September 2023 at the Nagaland Commissions’ Complex, located behind the Directorate of Social Welfare. The program was graced by Imkongmar, MLA and Advisor for Minority Affairs & Sericulture, who attended as the Special Guest, alongside a host of dignitaries, officers, and staff from the Nagaland Information Commission.

In his address, Imkongmar expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for his visionary leadership in creating a separate directorate dedicated to implementing various schemes aimed at the welfare of minority communities in the state. He encouraged the officers and staff to foster a strong work culture within the new office.

 

The program was chaired by Obangla Jamir, IAS, Secretary of Minority Affairs, while Pastor Renthungo Ngullie from Faith Harvest Church delivered the dedicatory prayers.

 

Shashank Pratap Singh, IAS, Director of the Directorate of Minority Affairs, gave the welcome address and highlighted the department’s various activities and its future plans. Chief Information Commissioner, I Meyionen Jamir in his speech motivated the officers and staff to actively contribute to the upliftment of the diverse minority communities in Nagaland, thereby playing a pivotal role in the overall development of the State. He also congratulated the department for swiftly making the Directorate functional.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Joint Director.
