Mokokchung, 16 September (MTNews): Table toppers Revenant FC registered an emphatic 7-1 win over a struggling Senso FC in the first match of Gameweek-3 on Saturday played at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung. Trebuchet FC and Terokroker FC also won their respective games.
Rongsenchiba gave the defending champions the lead in the very first minute of the match that set the tone for the day. Although Senso FC equalized in the seventh minute through Tiakumzuk, four goals by Nokchashilu and a goal each by Moakaba and Rongsenyanger for Revenant FC sunk the Senso FC beyond redemption.
With the win over Senso FC, Revenant FC is now sitting at the top of the table on superior goal aggregate. Revenant FC is joined by Terokroker FC and Trebuchet FC at 7 points each on the table, the goal difference being their only separator.
In the second match of the day, Trebuchet came from behind to register a 2-1 win over New Ecclesia FC. Pangertemsu first scored for New Ecclesia but Imlinichet netted the equalizer while Limaonen scored the winner for Trebuchet FC.
Terokroker FC also won the day’s third match in similar fashion as Temsuwati cancelled out Chubayanger’s first half goal while Sungtikumba added another goal for Terokroker to seal the match against Wasang FC.
