Mokokchung, 5 October (MTNews): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has demanded that the pending salaries of the teachers be immediately released, with an express undertaking assuring that no such delays will occur in the future. The Nagaland Congress also condemned the “abject incompetence” and “governance deficit” of the concerned department and the government of the day.
Stating that the role played by teachers in a society cannot be emphasized enough, the Congress argued that it is only fair, and prudent, for all concerned, that great care is taken to ensure that the teachers are not only remunerated handsomely, but on time too.
“It is therefore deplorable to note that the concerned Department has made it a habit of delaying the salaries of our teachers without any justifiable reason,” the NPCC stated in a press release issued today.
The NPCC further made clear that they stand behind the aggrieved teachers and said that they consider the injustice against them as “nothing less than a full scale assault on the rights and future of our children.”
